Good morning and Happy Monday!

First thing here is this weeks schedule:

A big shout out to my subs! the best way to show appreciation is to go to class and sweat :) Please note there are no classes during the month of July!

Knee Update: Tomorrow will be 1 week of recovery after my knee arthroscopy surgery. I had my post op appointment last Thursday. And I am happy to report that I am doing well. My next follow up is on 7/5. During the observation/recovery after surgery the nurse told me that I kept asking "can I still Zumba?" and "How long can I milk this at home?" apparently those were the 2 questions I kept asking over and over..I don't remember LOL. My Surgeon told me that I still have meniscus left on the medial side and of course the outside is intact (the bucket handle tear was in the medial - inside - part). There are no worries that I can go back to the level of activity that I am used to. Honestly I am feeling pretty good. That first night after surgery was uneventful and my level of discomfort (considering) was very minimal. I am so grateful for that, and I honestly believe that it had to do with all your healing energy that you sent my way :) I also "nuked" my knee fro 48hours with the ice machine - per my Surgeons instructions, so honestly I really felt no pain, and only taking the Advil for the inflammation. I am weaning myself off the Advil regimen now per instructions. I do go back to work tomorrow, but its as needed for the rest of the week. I have been pumping my ankles (again per instructions) and since I didn't take any of the heavy narcotics my surgeon was okay with me driving and going to work, as long as I am not standing...which I am not :) He said that after Thursday I can increase the level of activity but observing how my knee reacts (inflammation) so I'll start very lightly with my physical therapy exercises and 5 min of bike, see how my knee reacts on Friday, and then just start working myself up or down - all depends. Again all of this is per Surgeon's instructions, and honestly what I did after my initial injury. My family has been pretty awesome, so the taking care of myself part (for an uneventful and hopefully a speedy recovery) is really coming along. Please continue sending your good vibes my way! Have an awesome week!

Carmen
